My journey in ministry began 23 years go with the words “Hey you”. I did not realize that God was calling me into ministry by means of Sr. Bernadette. As I grew in knowledge and faith, I also yearned to do more ministry. I have been involved in every aspect of faith formation from Children’s Liturgy of the Word, directing VBS, Catechist, Youth Ministry, Adult formation and Sacrament preparation. I have served the Diocese of St. Petersburg for 19 years in a Catechetical Leadership role and for the last 9 years, I have worn the title of Director of Faith Formation and Sacrament Preparation. The best way I can describe myself is by using my ontological name which is Martha. Like the story of Martha and Mary, I prefer to do. I am a person who loves to be involved in developing, organizing and implementing programs. I am an outgoing individual who loves to listen to a person’s story and very willing to share my own story. My catechetical development began with me learning along side the children I taught. I have many certifications ranging from catechist certification, Catholic Leadership Institute, Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute, Youth Ministry, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 & 11. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband of 27 years and two children that have been very supportive of my call to ministry.
