St James The Apostle Parish

KofC

The St. James Knights of Columbus Council 8155 was formed in 1982 to help service the needs of our Parish.  We are part of a worldwide organization of Catholic men who assist our Parish and community through our core programs of Faith, Family, Community and Life.  We have a variety of events each year and are looking for men who wish to be active in our Parish.

The Knights of Columbus were founded by Blessed Fr. Michael J. McGivney in 1882 on the Principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and later Patriotism.  He recognized a need for families in his Parish who suffered hardships if the male passed away.  Since then, membership in the Knights of Columbus has been open to men 18 years of age or older who are "practical" (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See. The Knights of Columbus has understood "practical catholic" to mean a Catholic who accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church.

As a Knight, you also have access to our Fraternal Benefits consisting of a variety of Insurance Products to protect you and your family.  Their agents are Catholic men, with Catholic values serving only Catholic families.
