message from the Virtual Golf Event committee
“Awesome.” That was the word used by one of our committee members when we tallied the results of our first Virtual event. A total of 370 50/50 raffle tickets were redeemed for donations of $10.00 each resulting in a grand prize of $1,850.00. The winner, who we are proud to say is a parishioner of St. James Parish, was notified immediately after the ticket was drawn and a check was presented to the lucky winner that day.
An additional 29 tickets were drawn for prizes of various types including, but not limited to, Golf items and accessories, small appliances, wine selections, food items, a floral arrangement, gift cards and a beautiful stone carving of the Blessed Family just to name a few.
We want to thank our members, sponsors, and the most generous parishioners of St. James Parish for their tremendous support. A special thank you to our pastor Reverend Fr. Dominic Corona for allowing the Knights to ask for donations following each of the Masses throughout October and to Deacon Mr. Mark Manko for referencing our cause each week as part of the announcements. Also, we would be remiss if we did not thank Jerry and Judy Hekhuis, owners of the Oasis Coffee Spot who generously donated their facility so we could conduct the event live, via zoom, as we drew the winning raffle tickets. Their generosity is deeply appreciated.
In closing we thank all who helped make this Virtual event a success and assisted us in remaining true to our motto to, “Leave No Neighbor Behind”. The net proceeds from the event will be used to make charitable donations to those groups and organizations in our community in need of our help.
